Small project summary
This project aims to be a pilot project in the implementation of policies and good practices in the areas of Gender Equality and Reconciliation of Professional, Family and Personal Life. With the promoter of OesteCIM and the Center for Gender and Equality (Norway) as a project partner, the project will promote a sharing of experience and good practices between the partner and the intercity structure of OesteCIM. This sharing will allow the design of effective policies that meet the identified needs, optimizing the use of resources and constantly measuring the impact of the measures implemented.
The Oeste + Igual project aims to:
- Constitute itself as a pilot project in the development and implementation of effective policies and instruments in the areas of Gender Equality and Reconciliation of Professional, Family and Personal Life, in the 12 municipalities of OesteCIM, in partnership with CGE
- Share experiences and good practices in the areas of Conciliation and Gender Equality between CGE and OesteCIM
- Capitalize and promote the scalability of the results of projects previously promoted by the EEA Grants program, through the implementation of instruments and indicators provided by the Local Gender Equality project
- Implement tools to promote equality between women and men in local and regional policies
- Promote the scalability of the project's results to other intermunicipal communities (CIM)
- Implement joint measures and actions that contribute to the territorialization of ENIND (National Strategy for Equality and Non-Discrimination) and respective action plans
The objectives of Oeste + Equal are:
- Contribute to the reduction of economic and social disparities in the European Economic Area
- Strengthen territorial cohesion and bilateral relations between beneficiary and donor countries
- Contribute to the promotion of equality between women and men at local and regional level
- Implement national, regional and local policies, as well as the guidelines of the EEA Grants Programme for Conciliation and Gender Equality and ENIND
- Develop an intermunicipal diagnosis of the West Region for Conciliation and Gender Equality
- Explore participatory diagnostic techniques, diagnostic plans, indicators and good practices developed in the Local Gender Equality project (EEA Grants 2009-2014)Promote the sharing of good practices of conciliation and gender equality already tested in Norway (Benchmarking)Develop the action plan for the Oeste + Igual project
- Contribute to the fulfillment of the objective outlined in Output 2.2 of the Programme for Conciliation and Gender Equality, by implementing measures to promote Gender Equality in the 12 municipalities in the West Region
- Train executives and municipal technicians on the measures to be implemented, contributing to achieve the objective of Output 2.2 of the Programme for Conciliation and Gender Equality, involving at least 72 professionals from OesteCIM and the municipalities that constitute it and about 108 technicians from organizations that make up the Western Social Innovation Network
- Create the West Observatory for Conciliation and Gender Equality as a hub for regional knowledge on Conciliation and Gender Equality policies
- Coordinate and continuously monitor the development of the project
- Implement the project's communication plan
- Disseminate and demonstrate the final results of the project at the level of entities and companies in the West Region and for the other CIMs and other Public Administration entities
